Can the platform track sentiment for specific user personas or audience segments?
Yes. Profound supports Personas as a filter in the Sentiment tab. You can create personas representing specific audience segments in the Personas tab (Manage Personas button) in the Answer Engine Insights platform section.
Can the platform track and analyze sentiment for specific competitors?
Yes. To see your overall positive sentiment rank compared to competitors, navigate to the Sentiment section, select Compare Competitors in the Sentiment chart, then select the competitors you want to compare against underneath the chart.
For competitor comparison by theme, refer to the Positive Sentiment by Competitor matrix at the bottom of the Sentiment tab.
Finally, when you click into a theme, the Theme Analysis view lets you filter results by competitor.
Can I track specific negative themes like cost concerns or safety issues, and see which AI models surface them?
Yes. Click into any theme in the Sentiment tab and add a Platforms filter with the specific AI platforms you want to track.
Does the platform monitor sentiment from third-party review sites like Trustpilot?
Yes. Profound crawls Trustpilot and similar review sites directly. When those pages are cited in AI engine responses, they appear in the source attribution for the relevant theme, and you can see exactly where on the page the sentiment originates.
Is there a limit to how many competitors I can track for sentiment analysis?
There's no hard limit, but the standard maximum is 10 competitors. In most cases, tracking three to five competitors is recommended.
How can I influence what AI says about my brand?
AI engines synthesize brand reputation from their training data and real-time web citations. The most effective ways to influence sentiment are earning positive coverage in frequently cited domains, creating content that directly addresses known negative themes, and updating outdated third-party content that is driving negative narratives. Brand-owned content is less effective when a negative theme is driven by many independent cited sources.
